Filtration Soiling-Prevention TIP

August 4, 2011

Below is another quick tip to demonstrate how one of our Boston carpet cleaning customers can prevent filtration soiling on their carpeted stairway. Using simple latex caulking seal the gaps between the wall/kick plate and the stair treads and risers. This procedure is done before the installation of new wall to wall carpeting. Both homes and offices can benefit from this simple tip. Also consider sealing the seams around an entire room-where the floor meets the walls. Please contact us if you have questions:

Other ways out Boston area carpet cleaning customers can prevent the accumulation of these nasty filtration soils:

  1. Vacuuming often: Use a crevice tool to help your vacuuming clean right up against the walls and other surfaces that abut the carpeted floors.
  2. Have your wall to wall carpeting professionally cleaned every 12-24 months at a minimum.
  3. Keep your furnace in tip top operating condition-vents and flues should be kept clean.
