You can see from the photo above what happens when liquid is spilled on a hand made needlepoint tree skirt.

Some Tips:

When creating a needlepoint cover for seating or wall hanging make sure to use a water safe material. The best way to ensure that the dyes won’t bleed is to wash the fabric a few times before attaching it to the work. Isabelle helps to demonstrate how we plan to restore this piece: 1. Test a small area of the red bleeding 2. Remove the red lining 3. Use a combination of oxidizers and reducers to remove as much red as possible without harming the wool needlepoint threads
