Viscose Rugs Are Junk
Why do we begin with such a strong statement: Viscose Rugs Are Junk ? Because rugs with viscose fibers are very problematic for anyone who has to clean them.
As professional rug washers in the Boston area it falls to us have to explain to our customers why the rugs they purchased made of these “junky” fibers will not clean up very well. Viscose, also known as rayon or mercerized cotton do not stand up to even moderate use, do not repel liquid spills very well and break or splinter off under even light use. Many of our customers believe because they paid top price for these rugs they are of a high-quality….Not True!
Expensive rugs made of this fiber will not last as long as a wool rug will.
Check out the additional information in the video below and don’t forget to call us if you need help telling the difference between a quality rug fiber and some cheap knock-off!
Special Note: Viscose fibers are also much more difficult to spot dye or over dye when it is necessary to do color correction.
