Why Even Bother to Wrap Your Rugs?
Because if you are you thinking about storing your rugs for several months or years? Please read this first…..
Rugs, Wall Hangings and other soft furnishings need to be cleaned and properly wrapped for storage to help protect against moisture damage, re-soiling and insect infestation. We recommend all rugs be wrapped in TYVEK® Paper following cleaning. Tyvek has the unique ability to keep bugs and moths away, repel water and also allows textiles (especially wool) to “breathe”-wool rugs are continuously pulling moisture from the atmosphere and then releasing it. Tyvek® allows the moisture vapor to pass through it’s fine mesh while still keeping your fine rugs safe and clean. From time to time rugs in storage may have to be inspected-Tyvek® wrap can be removed for inspection and then reused for wrapping the same rug.
